The Calitzdorp Camino begins at NG Kerk Calitzdorp, winding through the foothills and valleys of the Swartberg Mountains, via Matjiesvlei, Groenfontein, and Kruisrivier. Pilgrims experience shallow river crossings, snow-capped peaks in winter, diverse plant life, and some of South Africa’s most stunning scenery.
The route continues through the Red Stone Hills, passes the historic Ostrich Palace, and ends at Klipdrift Zebra Church, near the Outeniqua Mountains — a place of reflection and gratitude.
In September 2024, four inspiring individuals completed the 141 km Calitzdorp Camino to raise funds for Project Raven Outreach — showing that every step can make a difference.
